Hi Rick,
I'm happy that FrankensteinTalk is IWU's first blog! We choose Blogger because of its overall ease of use. Also, we wanted to focus on communication and content instead of technical specifics this first time around. We have been keeping a close eye on a few open source solutions (e.g., WordPress, Moveable Type, etc) for future projects.
